Ever wonder how big a Tyrannosaurus Rex really was? Or what it was like to roam the earth during the prehistoric era?

This December, you’ll have a chance to go back in time and find out, when Jurassic Quest XL: Out of Extinction comes to the Baltimore Convention Center. The event, which starts December 1 and runs through December 3, is a wild interactive experience, with activities for kids of all ages.

The exhibition takes place from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, December 1 and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on both Saturday, December 2 and Sunday, December 3.

What to Expect

Jurassic Quest features a wide variety of dinosaur activities and displays, including over 80 life-size, moving dinosaurs, set up in realistic scenes, that visitors can interact with. The displays include both adult-sized dinosaurs (they’re big!) and babies – and five dinosaurs that kids can actually ride!

In addition to the animatronic dinosaurs, the vent has tons of activities available that will entertain kids both big and small. They include fossil digs, a bounce area, face painting, mazes and crafts, plus games like the bungee pull, a race to see how far you can get run before a dinosaur pulls you back in.

After touring the exhibit, hit a “science station” to take a quiz and make a take-home plaster fossil (don’t worry, the answers to the quiz are easy to spot on the informational signs scattered throughout the exhibit).

There is a minimum height requirement for some activities (3 feet), though some rides and inflatables are designed specifically for smaller children, including a dedicated bounce activity for children under two.

Ticket Options

There are four ticket options available for Jurassic Quest.

The regular kids’ ticket includes the exhibit, Dino Tour, theater, science station, crafts and coloring station; it costs $20.

The kids’ VIP ticket (ages 2-12) is $34 and includes all the regular attractions plus unlimited dinosaur rides, fossil digs, dino scooters, inflatables and bungee pull games. (The other activities are available for  $5 fee each with the regular kids’ ticket.)

Adult tickets (ages 13-64) are $20 and seniors tickets (ages 65+) are $18; both include the same lineup as the regular kids’ tickets.

Police and military members and their families will save $2 on each ticket, with ID.
