Cold weather is here – so it’s time to ice skate! The best place in the area to get on the ice is right in downtown Baltimore at the Inner Harbor Ice Rink. The rink is back again this year, now open for the 2019-2020 season.

As in years past, the rink is located at the top of the Amphitheater in the Inner Harbor, between the Harborplace Pavilions; the address is 201 E. Pratt St.

What to Expect

The Inner Harbor Ice Rink is a fun, outdoor space for the whole family to enjoy. Skaters of all ability levels have a great time taking spins around the ice as they take in the Inner Harbor’s gorgeous views of the water and the city skyline.

After your skate, head to Tir na nOg Irish Bar & Grill in Harborplace for a warm drink and Irish meal; you’ll receive 10% off with your rink wristband.

Special Events

All season long, the rink hosts fun special events, including:

  • Superhero skate on November 17: skaters dressed as superheroes will receive a gift
  • Skate with Santa on Dec. 7: not only will you get to skate with the big guy from the North Pole, the first 100 kids will also receive a Christmas Hat

Admission to the rink is $10 for adults and $9 for seniors, children and members of the military; season skating passes, good for unlimited visits, are available for $150. There are also group rates available. Hockey skates are available for rental; they are $4 per pair.

There are also special rink offers for members of the National Aquarium and Port Discovery Children’s Museum.

Where to Park to Go to the Inner Harbor Ice Rink

Before you lace up your skates to head downtown, make a plan for parking.

Harbor Park Garage, located at 55 Market Place, is just a short, easy walk to the harbor and the rink. The garage, which is easily accessible from I-83 and other routes in and out of downtown Baltimore, is also convenient to many fun restaurants and bars where you might stop for a bite to eat or a warm (or cold) drink before or after your skate.

Plus, Harbor Park is safe, well-lit and staffed around the clock by a smart, friendly crew of employees who will be happy to point you in the direction of your destination or answer any questions you might have.

Happy Skating!
