This fall, downtown Baltimore is a great place to be. Autumn weather in Baltimore is gorgeous; there’s no better time to head outside and take advantage of all the city has to offer.

Plus, fall is a terrific time for festivals and parties in Baltimore. September and October are always jam-packed with fun events – including a pair of foodie-friendly festivals taking place at Power Plant Live! in September and October.

In September, The Big Dill – a party celebrating all things pickle – takes over Power Plant Live! and a few weeks later, in October, a massive taco festival invades the space.

Both events are sure to be hot and are likely to sell out, so now is the time to grab your tickets.

About The Big Dill Pickle Party

Big-Dill-Pickle-Party-logoOn Sunday, Sept. 22, Power Plant Live! gets salty and tangy with The Big Dill, a party dedicated just to pickles.

Billed as “a Disney World of pickle-themed fun,” the party includes over 30 pickle and food vendors, fried pickles, pickle-themed drinks, a pickle brunch and a pickle eating contest. There will be an appearance by “Dilly the Pickle,” and an entire “experience” dedicated to pickle backs.

In addition to the pickles, the party will have country music, an ax-throwing area, carnival games and bull-riding.

The festival start at noon and lasts until 6 p.m. General early-bird passes are already sold out and other options are going fast. Those ticket choices include a general admission pass + 1 drink ticket for $14.99, a premium pass with a drink and two kids passes included for $27.99 and VIP (“Very Important Pickle”) passes including early entry, three drinks, access to the pickle brunch, carnival games and private area plus two kids passes for $59.99 (all tickets may include additional fees).

About the Taco Festival

The first weekend in October will be a spicy one at Power Plant Live! On October 5 and 6, Baltimore Taco Fest takes over the space with two afternoons celebrating all things taco.

The party starts both days at 2 p.m. (12 p.m. for VIPs) and lasts until 8 p.m. on Saturday and 6 p.m. Sunday. It will feature over 75 different varieties of taco, each of which will cost just $3, plus Mexican corn, churritos, churros, tamales, nachos and more from over 20 local restaurants, food trucks and other food vendors.

You can wash all that food down with margaritas from a make-your-own margarita bar  – or anything else from the full bar – and check out tequila samples while listening to multiple music options, including alive mariachi band. There will be a giant nacho bar, a chili pepper eating contest and a best dressed contest.

Ticket prices range from $4.95 (pre-sale general admission) to $59.95 (last chance VIP admission); there are multiple levels of ticket options available.
